Trivia Early 1987 Fredrik from Rea Respirator wanted to start up a fast playing hardcore band. He hooked up with Ante (who just moved to Tranås from Jokkmokk far up in north Sweden) and Jimmy. After a while they catched Mathias from Nässjö for the vocals and then Palimpsest was a fact. After a few gigs they recorded the Eat More Meat cassette which Fredriks fanzine Byt Ben gave out. After about a year Frederic joined the band as the second guitarist and the band had a few more gigs before they got bored and took a break. The break was over in the end of 1989 and the band was rebuilt with some new members. Jimmy and Mathias left the band and Bibban joined as the bassplayer. After the rebuilt the band played more like heavy underground and rock/hardcore music instead or something like that. In 1990-91 two demotapes was recorded. One of them was released. The band had a lot of gigs, particularly in south Sweden. In the mid 1991 the whole band moved to a house in south Sweden. In the end of -91 Fredrik left the band and was replaced by the guitarist Charlie. 1992 Palimpsest realeased their single "Worn Out" at Wounded Records. The band broke up 1993(?). Palimpsest also participated on a couple of compilation records and cassettes through the years. The band members then moved to Malmö and started to play in different bands, for example Fredrik and Ante started Micro Midas. Before Micro Midas Fredrik also joined 16 B.U.H. for a while. |
