Trivia Earlier named Birdskit records The home of swedish "trallpunk". "Since 1982 there´s been a Birdnest (Birdskit) in the industrial city of Köping and since then the world just hasn´t been the same. From "Do-It-Yourself" to "Do-It-Yourself-Much-Better" we´re surfing in the indiestream with the belief that good music is the key to success. The only problem being that people around us don´t necessarily see this the same way we do. From the start and the space under the bed to our "fancy" office in an old grocery store alot of things have happened: 1983 we released the first EP with two lokal bands, Zynthslakt & the Past 1984 we released the first album with Charta 77 1987 we formed "Sinderella" together with other small Swedish labels, a sort of network for contacts and ideas regarding small labels. 1988 we changed the name from "Birdskit" into "Birdnest" 1989 we started up the mailorder. 1992 we started up the label Kamel. 1995 we adopted the two labels Desperate Fight. and Ampersand Records and opened up our German and Norwegian offices.. 1996 we started up the labels Strange Edge and Melon. We also made the movie "the Return of Jesús part II". And our history isn´t over yet. We will be around with our love for good music, forcing it on you, for a long time to come." |
